In 1994 The WORLD TRADE CENTER San Diego was established to provide San Diego businesses with a resource to help them grow into the burgeoning global business community. It was created to disseminate best practices, be a source of continuing education and resources and be a gateway for San Diego businesses to connect with individuals and companies both locally and internationally. As stated on the World Trade Center websitescreen-shot-2016-09-13-at-11-07-51-am, “WORLD TRADE CENTER San Diego provides comprehensive international trade services and key global contacts to facilitate and expand trade for regional and worldwide clients. Leveraging its global network of World Trade Centers and affiliate partners, WORLD TRADE CENTER San Diego is the proven forum for international information, communications and connections.”

The WTC is a non-profit organization and operates in partnership with the City of San Diego, the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority and the San Diego Unified Port District. It operates as a private-public partnership, with the City of San Diego, the San Diego Unified Port District and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. The San Diego WTC has received international recognition and certification. It’s employees report to an elected Board of Directors.
